I am a Vine reviewer who actually opens the box, really tests, really evaluates, and writes really honest unbiased reviews of products. In *just* the past five years alone, I have listened to, handled, tested, and evaluated hundreds of Bluetooth speakers as well as having written almost a hundred reviews. I bought a LOT of them, some costing over $500. But I would only ever *objectively* compare a speaker based on its price and size compared to similar speakers in its "class". Speakers costing more than a speaker in a review are not considered. And I don't mention competition.Having written that, I note that there are a lot of reviews concerning this speaker, especially the karaoke aspect of it, so I will only mention what I objectively discovered while reviewing this speaker.Since the release of this speaker there have been a LOT of reviews on the internet, most of them extremely favorable, which I agree with. I am very discerning when it comes to listening to music, I want it to sound like it did when it was made. Since Bluetooth speakers really can't reproduce music that faithfully, (few speakers can actually) I'm constantly looking for the "best" at reasonable price.I like this speaker. I'm now willing to lug this thing outside as my go to speaker when in the yard doing whatever even though it's barely portable (for an old person anyway). I've been listening to this speaker for a couple of weeks now, and I'm very impressed. I've bought a lot of Soundcore products and for the most part they really deliver for the money. I'm always looking forward to Soundcore new speaker releases.I've always been puzzled however why Soundcore releases products with a flat EQ. It seems to cause bad reviews from people who aren't willing to use the embedded ap to "fix" the speaker. Once the EQ is adjusted, this speaker is outstanding. The bass output from a small 6½" driver is phenomenal outside in the yard from at least a hundred feet away. I did not expect that. None of my other "big name" (and a few more expensive) speakers will do that. Inside my basement shop I hear stuff rattling all over the house that I never heard before. Very impressive.I usually don't turn my speakers up very loud so I rarely find a speaker that will deliver good bass at low volume. That includes this speaker, (still better than most) but once you get around 40% or so this unit really begins to shine. I'm sure that most people will use a speaker like this at those volume levels anyway. The high frequencies, once the EQ is adjusted are also impressive. I almost always max out the treble on everything because that is what I personally prefer, and this speaker delivers, really crisp and sharp with awesome vocals. I acknowledge that everyone prefers something different, but for me, this speaker does a fine job across the sound spectrum. As far as the lights, looks good in the dark with a few different sequences. Again, personally, I always turn lights off, which I'm glad is an option.Other people, including the internet reviewers have commented on the remarkable ability of this unit to function as a karaoke machine. I'll let my kids deal with that, I mainly wanted a great speaker, which I got.Very recommended machine.
