After researching quality ear buds to use with an Asus ROG Ally and Steamdeck, I decided to take a chance on these ear buds. All the reviews I could find spoke favorably of the power pass through, which ultimately is what led me to purchase these. I found the sound quality to be within my expectations for ear buds, and they are comfortable to wear. I am not within the typical demographic for RGB everything, but the app made it very easy to turn that feature off. The packaging is substantially larger than I expected, and about double the volume of a set of apple airpods with wireless charging, which was disappointing but not unreasonably so.
Whats likely to lead to a return for these buds has to do with a poor representation of the power pass through capability of the dongle. Both of the devices I intended to use it with, are able to empty their batteries within an hour or two, so being able to supply 30-60w of power through the sole port for power delivery is vital! The only specification I could find for the dongle, is it requires a minimum of 9v at 2amps which is 18 watts. This might work to keep the steamdeck going, or at least extend its battery to 3 hrs and beyond, however it is not enough to run the Ally on performance or turbo modes without quickly depleting battery. If a high power delivery dongle was available for a reasonable price, I may reconsider. Based upon what I am seeing thus far, these just failed to meet my expectations which could have been tempered with better documentation.
